Maia Manning is a conservationist with an extensive background in finance, relationship building, and customer service.
Maia grew up in a small town in south Puget Sound where she was raised by an accountant and a banker and helped with daily operations of their 20-acre hobby ranch. She has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Washington and spent several years working in commercial lending after college. Maia then transitioned to become a financial advisor, where she earned designations as both a Certified Financial Planner® and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™. She quickly built a referral-based practice, helping her clients both define and achieve their short-term and long-term goals as well as transition into retirement. Maia’s focus on relationship building was a key to success which resulted in two top achiever awards at her firm. After almost 10 years as a financial advisor Maia transitioned her career to healthcare, and she currently works at the local hospital and is involved in the company’s ‘green team’ where they focus on environmental stewardship and are on-track to meet their goal of carbon negative by 2030.
Maia currently lives near Seattle, WA with her family, working to reduce their carbon footprint, limit single-use plastics, and get money into the hands of great organizations to benefit both farm and wild animals. The whole family volunteers with different organizations that rehabilitate ecosystems to benefit fish, marine mammals, and other wildlife. Maia’s favorite outdoor activities include hiking, kayaking, and skiing. She shares her home with both a rescued dog and cat and looks forward to the day when she can spend more time hugging alpacas.
