Every citizen can be a watchdog!

For too long, our state agencies have been controlled by powerful commercial interests and special interest lobbies, leaving the vast majority of us with no voice in how these agencies manage the fish, wildlife, and wild spaces that they hold in trust for all Washingtonians. With your help, we can change that.

Many people want to make a difference, but do not know where to start. Others frequently attend meetings and submit letters and comments, but despair that their lone voice cannot make a difference. And some have special expertise that could enrich our collective advocacy, but do not have an effective way to share their knowledge.

By giving you the tools to collaborate and strategize with like-minded people, Washington Wildlife First will help you to have a greater impact in the fight for agency reform. Our Citizen Watchdogs group will harness the power of citizen advocates by creating a supportive community where you can work together, pool your resources, and  share you knowledge and expertise.

You are essential to our success!

Whether you have an interest or expertise in  a specific species, topic, or agency, or just a general desire to see the state improve the way it manages its fish, wildlife, and wild spaces, our network can help you to be a more effective advocate.

We will provide forums for our Citizen Watchdogs to discuss our current campaigns, work together to develop new campaign ideas, and share information and expertise to bolster your advocacy.

Tell us a little bit more about yourself, and we will help you find an effective way to use your interests and skills, connect you with other Citizen Watchdogs, and provide you with the support and resources that you need to make sure that your voice is heard.
