Wolf Advocates Voluntarily Dismiss Lawsuit After Protecting Sherman Pack

WW1 and partners voluntarily dismissed a lawsuit after successfully stopping the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife from executing a kill order that would have destroyed the Sherman wolf pack. The legal action blocked a kill order, prevented its renewal, and exposed the Department’s willingness to ignore science and policy to appease irresponsible beef producers grazing cattle on public lands.

Beavers, Broken Policies, and a Better Path

Beavers are not “nuisances” or “furbearers.” They are family-oriented, hard-working animals who build warm lodges for their young and create cool, wet refuges that salmon, wildlife, and people depend on in a warming world. Yet Washington still allows unlimited trapping and broad killing, with weak data and little regard for their lives. We are committed to respectful, reciprocal coexistence with beaver families, and to challenging policies that ignore their agency, wellbeing, and vital work.
